My first sous vide was a gift. I’ll be honest, I thought “this is cool”, but didn’t really know how much I would use it or even begin to understand why it is so cool.
Sous Vide is a French method of cooking. You begin with a pot or cambro of water, place the sous vide in the pot and heat it to the desired temperature. Then, place your food in a foodsaver bag in the pot. That’s it!
But, here’s the real catch. Not only is the sous vide super slick to use, it cooks INCREDIBLE food! The trick with the sous vide is that it cooks the food evenly throughout and maintains the temperature. If you need to leave it on for an extra half hour or hour while waiting for the rest of the meal to be done, no problem!
We have two different Sous Vide’s, the Anova and the Joule. See this post for a comparison of the two.
